(Un)Recognition Situation of Public Health Professionals Working in the Field

Abstract

Some of the professionals working in the field who have received postgraduate education in the field of Public Health Science state that they are satisfied with their working conditions. On the other hand, some of them are dissatisfied, especially due to being unable to reflect their education to their work life. Some even complain that their occupational professionalism is neglected and they are seen as any other health professional. The structure of our health system is also prone to ignoring these people. Even without malicious intent here, most health care administrators may not even be aware of the Public Health professionals working in their organization, other than Public Health specialists. According to our personal evaluation, the key reason for this situation is that the education, knowledge and skills of Public Health Professionals are not sufficiently known in the health community. The aim of this article is to discuss the situation and problems of Public Health Professionals working in the field, arising from lack of awareness.
